last night i did locum at my main clinic..among of all the patients that came,got 1 pt young boy came to my room ,he complaint of shortness of breath..he claimed he is known case of asthma but not on any MDI..sounds fishy huh..then who diagnose u with asthma but not giving proper treatment..(that is what going on in my mind)

otherwise..he looks well..talk in full sentences,no tachypneic,no SOB like he claimed..just keep on coughing on and off...i auscultated his lungs,its clear..tonsil normal,throat injected..then i told him what is my finding and my plan..suddenly his father entered my room without knocking without any greeting ,straight away ordered me to give NEBULIZER to his son..i was like..whoa who the hell are u to order me?but for sure i just keep calm and ask further history from him..and according to him..his son has MDI but non compliance(aha?i glanced to the son,he said he doesnt have?i smiled to the son,then the father scolded his son in front of me..wow)..he said his son already got asthma attack,so the MDI is useless..i asked him nicely how about before the 'attack',did he compliance or not for the daily MDI,he said his son was fasting,cant give MDI...aiyooo ayah,if u dunno then u shud ask 1st...now i dunno who shud i believe..but if i have to choose,i will trust the boy becoz he looks honest compared to his rude father.

whenever i told him his son is ok,lungs also clear and im not going to give any neb,he became more angry and told me that he will bring his son to emergency department..sigh,to make it short..i just give a 'placebo' neb..and the best part is,prior the neb,he asked for stethoscope from my nurse in the treatment room (i was in my room seeing another patient)whoa...so u dont believe in my finding?i really would like to ask his finding but unfortunately my nurse told me only after he left..and he did not bring the child for me to auscultate back after the 'placebo' neb..my nurse said they look happier after the neb..so what does it mean?hmmph

why la this kind of rude people exist in this world..sigh,further story i got is...he is somebody in the health office in my district..so?do i look like i care..if u are YB also i dont care..i will treat my patient equally...u shud b ashamed of ur bad attitude..do not be so rude...i never raised my voice..so u shud be good and behave.

being a doctor is not always fun.
